Information about our residential retreats.
It’s about you...
ARATIKA means choosing The Right Path.
We are here to support you over this 5-day retreat to find your own right path
to greater health and wellbeing.
Our hope is that you will benefit in many real and tangible ways
from the time we spend together.
To ensure a personalised, intimate and safe group experience we limit attendee numbers to 24 including support people that may attend with you.
Our team includes two or more facilitators, our kaumatua, support people and additional trustees who function as support staff. The Tauhara Centre have their own team of staff (WWOOF’s too) that look after the facilities and cook our awesome meals. We work together to ensure the food available is healthy and fresh.

Medical Assistance
Please be aware there is no medical facility on site, or GP close by.

It is important whoever your chosen emergency contact is available to attend and support you if necessary at short notice.
A trust member will be on duty at all times and an ambulance is only a phone call away.
Medication
If you have medication that requires being refrigerated, there are fridges in some cottages and a fridge in the dining area you can use.
Perfume/aftershave/makeup
People having chemotherapy, those with allergies or chemical sensitivities can become very sick from perfume and aftershave so we request that you do not use these products while on the retreat.
Retreat Atmosphere
Tauhara is smoke & alcohol-free at all times.
Mobile Phones
The retreat is an opportunity to lesson social media contact. Please be mindful of other participant’s enjoyment of the retreat by making ph calls out of earshot of others.
It’s about you...
We recommend that you minimise outside contact and ask your friends and relatives to allow you the space and time to focus on yourself.
Visitors
Unless there are exceptional circumstances, we find it better for everyone if visitors do not visit during your retreat. If you feel that there is a particular need for a visitor, please speak with Trust member.
Library Books
We will be bringing our specialised library books that you are welcome to loan to read.
Extra Cash Expenses
Oncology & Reiki Massage therapists will be available. The Trust subsidizes these sessions. They are available at a reduced cost – You can book on arrival.
-
We have a few sundry items for sale: Books, Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin C, & Honey. Please bring cash for these purchases – we hope to have access to a cashpoint machine and we can arrange internet banking.
Subsidies may be available depending on funding available to us. Please reach out to us if a subsidy would make the difference for you to be able to attend.
