Residential Wellbeing Retreat
at Tauhara Retreat Centre in Taupō
We invite you to journey with us on this unique retreat designed for anyone facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Carers are invited and encouraged to come as well.
This retreat is an experience to immerse yourself in an educational and experiential process learning about what you can do for yourself to reduce stress, strengthen your immune system, calm your mind, experience peace in your body, survive traditional cancer treatments and thrive at any stage of your cancer journey.
You will participate in a series of workshops about subjects like holistic health, meditation, nutrition, integrative medicine, emotional healing, forgiveness, gratitude, dying well, transforming grief, and the benefits of social connection.
Together with a group of up to 24 others, you will be immersed in the sanctuary of the Tauhara Retreat Centre in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand. Our of Team 8 - 10 provide support and education. This includes our Facilitators, Counsellors, Trustee's and Volunteers.
Each day begins with meditation, healing food and drinks, and the company of others also on a path of recovery and healing.
Evenings will include movies, small group conversations, healing live music and time for personal contemplation.
All meals are plant-based and dietary needs are provided for.

We hold the retreat at the beautiful, tranquil Tauhara Centre. Located in the picturesque Acacia Bay, Lake Taupo.
We offer a range of accommodation from bunkrooms through to Premium B & B.
The bunkrooms are fresh and clean (some have single and/or double bunk beds) they come complete with linen/towels and the use of nearby shared bathrooms. $695.00 for your own bunkroom.
There are four cute self-contained cottages available, each can sleep 2 people, either in a double bed or 2 beds. These are $795 per person - best for couples, families or 2 friends.
We have premium B&B accommodation available at the Acacia Heights Garden. Located 300 mts from the retreat centre. Share a premium room with my support person - off-site private 'B&B' Accommodation $850pp.
There are two powered sites available for caravans or campervans. $595 per person.
All of the above prices include accommodation, delicious, tasty plant-based meals, daily juices and all additional costs included in the 5-day programme.

Level 1 - We look forward to being together at the Tauhara Centre, Taupo following the Level 1 Health and Safety Guidelines from the Ministry of Health Website.
Level 2 - The retreat will be cancelled. You will have the first option to transfer to the next Retreat or receive a full refund.
Level 2 - Regional: If you are from the particular region at Level 2 you will not be able to attend. You have the first option to transfer to the next Retreat or receive a full refund. And or course if it is our region we will not be able to host!
It's clear-cut for us. Having cancer and treatment can mean you are immuno-compromised. Your health and wellbeing is of the highest importance to us.
Subsidies may be available depending on our current funding. Please reach out and ask if a subsidy would make the difference for you to be able to attend.
Other helpful Information
Please be mindful Tauhara Centre is in Taupo. If booking flights we recommend flying into Taupo Airport. This is about 20 mins from the Tauhara Retreat. You can book a shuttle with Taupo Shuttle Service - Some people choose to arrive the night before arranging their own accommodation or we can book you for an extra night at the Tauhara Centre - Please contact us directly around this.
To ensure a personalised, intimate and safe group experience we limit numbers to 24 attendees (including support people).
You'll need to be able to manage your own daily health including pain relief and bring any medications you require. We are 20 minutes from a doctor/hospital.

Cancellations and Transfer Policy
We require a $150 deposit to secure your booking. This includes a $100 non-refundable booking fee that is not refunded unless your retreat is cancelled by us.
If you attend a retreat and decide to leave during the retreat of your own volition, there will be no refund.
Less than 7 days prior to the retreat commencement date – 50% of your total payment will be refunded.
More than 7 days prior to the retreat commencement date – your total payment, less $100 non-refundable deposit will be refunded.
If you are unable to attend, you may be able to transfer to another Aratika Cancer Trust Retreat within 12 months.
