We invite you to journey with us on a unique retreat designed for anyone in our community facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Supportive friends and carers are encouraged to come as well.
These retreats are an experience to immerse yourself in an educational and experiential process learning about:

You will participate in a series of workshops about subjects like:

Together with a group of up to 12 others in Rotorua and 24 others in Taupō, you will be immersed in the sanctuary of well-being and empowerment. Our of Team 4 - 8 provide support and education. This includes our Facilitators, Counsellors, Trustee's and Volunteers.
Each day begins with meditation, healing food and drinks, and the company of others also on a path of recovery and healing.
Evenings will include movies, small group conversations, free time and opportunity for personal contemplation.
All meals are vegetarian and mainly plant-based and moderate dietary needs are provided for.

* We emphasise that cost should not feel like a barrier for you to access this event.
* Aratika Trust receives some funding to off-set the production costs for this retreat.
* The fees we charge for attendance help us to achieve our mission to serve all those who are impacted by cancer in our community, but do not cover the full cost of the retreat.
* We recognize that a cancer diagnosis may impact upon your financial wellbeing as much as your physical wellbeing. Please contact us if you need any financial assistance to attend or if you would prefer to make a koha.
* Pay it forward donations are also welcomed. If you can make a donation to assist others to attend our retreat, 100% of your donation will apply directly to that cause.
* In the past some of our attendees have also received support from their friends, whānau and community to attend. We can assist you with information to share about the benefits of supportive cancer care retreats for your wellbeing.
Other helpful Information
If traveling from afar. Paradise Valley is 25 mins from Rotorua Airport + Tauhara Retreat Centre is 20 mins from Taupō.
To ensure a personalised, intimate and safe group experience we limit numbers to 24 attendees (including support people) at Taupō and 12 attendees in Rotorua.
You'll need to be able to manage your own daily health including pain relief and bring any medications you require. We are 20 minutes from a doctor/hospital.

Cancellations and Transfer Policy

We require a $150 deposit to secure your booking. This includes a $100 non-refundable booking fee that is not refunded unless your retreat is cancelled by us.

If you attend a retreat and decide to leave during the retreat of your own volition, there will be no refund.

Less than 7 days prior to the retreat commencement date – 50% of your total payment will be refunded.

More than 7 days prior to the retreat commencement date – your total payment, less $100 non-refundable deposit will be refunded.

If you are unable to attend, you may be able to transfer to another Aratika Cancer Trust Retreat within 12 months.
